In the east of Croatia, between the rivers Danube, Drava and Sava lies fertile Slavonia. After Dalmatia, it is the second largest Croatian historical region, known for its flat land, oak forests, baroque castles and churches. In Slavonia you can try the famous Croatian sausage "Kulen", as well as white wine Graševnina, the most cultivated wine in Croatia. The attraction to visit is certainly the town of Vukovar - known for the liberation of Croatia, Vučedol - a prehistoric archaeological site that attests to the long stay of Slavonia, the Lipican horses in Đakovo and Lipik, the natural park Kopački rit.
